The GOSPEL Message
G - God created us to be with Him
"Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image.'"
God designed humans for relationship with Him, to experience His love and reflect His character.
O - Our sin separates us from God
"The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become."
Sin—our disobedience and rejection of God's authority—created a barrier between us and God.
S - Sin cannot be removed by good deeds
"He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy."
No amount of good works can erase our sin or restore our broken relationship with God.
P - Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again
"Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day."
Jesus Christ took the punishment we deserved by dying on the cross and rose victorious over sin and death.
E - Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life
"Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life."
Salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ—not earned through our efforts.
L - Life that's eternal means we will be with Jesus forever
"They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever."
When we accept Christ, we begin a relationship that continues beyond death into eternity with God.
Understanding God's Gift
God offers salvation as a free gift. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
- Costly: To us it's free, but it cost God the life of His Son. On the cross, Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins, paying with His blood.
- Conditional: Like any gift, salvation must be received. We must accept what Christ offers through faith.
