^{2 Ref} by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain.

^{3 Ref} For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

^{1 Ref} Now I am going to make clear to you, my brothers, what the good news was which I gave to you, and which you took, and on which your faith is based,

^{2 Ref} By which you have salvation; that is to say, the form in which it was given to you, if it is fixed in your minds, and if your faith in it is not without effect.
