Romans 10
American Standard-ASV1901 (ASV)
1 Ref Brethren, my heart's desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved.
2 Ref For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Ref For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
4 Ref For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 Ref For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby.
6 Ref But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:)
7 Ref or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)
8 Ref But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
9 Ref because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus `as' Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:
10 Ref for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 Ref For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
12 Ref For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same `Lord' is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:
13 Ref for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 Ref How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 Ref and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
16 Ref But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 Ref So belief `cometh' of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
18 Ref But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.
19 Ref But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.
20 Ref And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.
21 Ref But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
King James Version (KJV)
1 Ref Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 Ref For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Ref For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 Ref For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 Ref For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 Ref But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Ref Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 Ref But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 Ref That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 Ref For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 Ref For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 Ref For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 Ref For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 Ref How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 Ref And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 Ref But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 Ref So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 Ref But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 Ref But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 Ref But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 Ref But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

1 Ref Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved.
2 Ref For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

6 Ref But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' (that is, to bring Christ down);
7 Ref or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)"
8 Ref But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;" that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
9 Ref that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 Ref For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 Ref For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."
12 Ref For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.

14 Ref How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
15 Ref And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
16 Ref But they didn't all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
17 Ref So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 Ref But I say, didn't they hear? Yes, most assuredly, "Their sound went out into all the earth, Their words to the ends of the world."
19 Ref But I ask, didn't Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding I will make you angry."
20 Ref Isaiah is very bold, and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me. I was revealed to those who didn't ask for me."
