² Hear diligently my speech; And let this be your consolations.

⁷ And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood on the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

² Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

² Hear my words, ye wise men; And give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

³¹ Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will speak.

³² If thou hast anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify thee.

³³ If not, hearken thou unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.

¹ Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.

² How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

² I have heard many such things: Miserable comforters are ye all.

¹¹ Are the consolations of God too small for thee, Even the word that is gentle toward thee?

³ Surely I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.

⁴ But ye are forgers of lies; Ye are all physicians of no value.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away `from them'.
