¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

⁵ Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For `riches' certainly make themselves wings, Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.

⁹ But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.

¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

⁴ Weary not thyself to be rich; Cease from thine own wisdom.

¹⁰ He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance, with increase: this also is vanity.

²¹ for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

²¹ His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

¹⁶ How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

⁴ Riches profit not in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death.

¹⁶ Better is little, with the fear of Jehovah, Than great treasure and trouble therewith.

⁷ Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute `is due'; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

⁶ For this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God's service, attending continually upon this very thing.

²² That which maketh a man to be desired is his kindness; And a poor man is better than a liar.

⁹ Honor Jehovah with thy substance, And with the first-fruits of all thine increase:

¹⁴ I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, As much as in all riches.

¹¹ Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished; But he that gathereth by labor shall have increase.

¹¹ The rich man's wealth is his strong city, And as a high wall in his own imagination.

¹⁶ Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.

¹⁸ Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever.

² Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; But righteousness delivereth from death.

²² The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.

⁸ Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me:

⁵ Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

¹ A `good' name is rather to be chosen than great riches, `And' loving favor rather than silver and gold.
