1 Corinthians 13
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
4 Ref Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride;
5 Ref Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil;
6 Ref It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true;
7 Ref Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things.
8 Ref Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end.
American Standard-ASV1901 (ASV)
4 Ref Love suffereth long, `and' is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Ref doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
6 Ref rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;
7 Ref beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Ref Love never faileth: but whether `there be' prophecies, they shall be done away; whether `there be' tongues, they shall cease; whether `there be' knowledge, it shall be done away.
