Matthew 6
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
7 Ref And in your prayer do not make use of the same words again and again, as the Gentiles do: for they have the idea that God will give attention to them because of the number of their words.
8 Ref So be not like them; because your Father has knowledge of your needs even before you make your requests to him.
9 Ref Let this then be your prayer: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
King James Version (KJV)
7 Ref But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Ref Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 Ref After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
7 Ref `And -- praying -- ye may not use vain repetitions like the nations, for they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard,
8 Ref be ye not therefore like to them, for your Father doth know those things that ye have need of before your asking him;
9 Ref thus therefore pray ye: `Our Father who `art' in the heavens! hallowed be Thy name.
