^{2 Ref} In no way. How may we, who are dead to sin, be living in it any longer?

^{3 Ref} Or are you without the knowledge that all we who had baptism into Christ Jesus, had baptism into his death?

^{4 Ref} We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.

^{5 Ref} For, if we have been made like him in his death, we will, in the same way, be like him in his coming to life again;

^{6 Ref} Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.

^{7 Ref} Because he who is dead is free from sin.

^{8 Ref} But if we are dead with Christ, we have faith that we will be living with him;

^{2 Ref} God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

^{3 Ref} Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

^{4 Ref} Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

^{5 Ref} For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

^{6 Ref} Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

^{7 Ref} For he that is dead is freed from sin.

^{8 Ref} Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

^{2 Ref} let it not be! we who died to the sin -- how shall we still live in it?

^{3 Ref} are ye ignorant that we, as many as were baptized to Christ Jesus, to his death were baptized?

^{4 Ref} we were buried together, then, with him through the baptism to the death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we in newness of life might walk.

^{5 Ref} For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, `so' also we shall be of the rising again;

^{6 Ref} this knowing, that our old man was crucified with `him', that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin;

^{7 Ref} for he who hath died hath been set free from the sin.

^{8 Ref} And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also shall live with him,
