Romans 6
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
2 Ref In no way. How may we, who are dead to sin, be living in it any longer?
3 Ref Or are you without the knowledge that all we who had baptism into Christ Jesus, had baptism into his death?
4 Ref We have been placed with him among the dead through baptism into death: so that as Christ came again from the dead by the glory of the Father, we, in the same way, might be living in new life.
5 Ref For, if we have been made like him in his death, we will, in the same way, be like him in his coming to life again;
6 Ref Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.
7 Ref Because he who is dead is free from sin.
8 Ref But if we are dead with Christ, we have faith that we will be living with him;
King James Version (KJV)
2 Ref God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Ref Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Ref Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 Ref For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Ref Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 Ref For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Ref Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
2 Ref let it not be! we who died to the sin -- how shall we still live in it?
3 Ref are ye ignorant that we, as many as were baptized to Christ Jesus, to his death were baptized?
4 Ref we were buried together, then, with him through the baptism to the death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we in newness of life might walk.
5 Ref For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, `so' also we shall be of the rising again;
6 Ref this knowing, that our old man was crucified with `him', that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin;
7 Ref for he who hath died hath been set free from the sin.
8 Ref And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also shall live with him,
