James 1
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
22 Ref But be doers of the word, and not only hearers of it, blinding yourselves with false ideas.
23 Ref Because if any man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass;
24 Ref For after looking at himself he goes away, and in a short time he has no memory of what he was like.
25 Ref But he who goes on looking into the true law which makes him free, being not a hearer without memory but a doer putting it into effect, this man will have a blessing on his acts.
World English Bible (WEB)
22 Ref But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
23 Ref For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror;
24 Ref for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 Ref But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.

22 Ref But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.
23 Ref For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
24 Ref for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 Ref But he that looketh into the perfect law, the `law' of liberty, and `so' continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.
