1 Corinthians 16

Bible in Basic English (BBE)

1 Ref Now about the giving of money for the saints, as I gave orders to the churches of Galatia, so do you.

2 Ref On the first day of the week, let every one of you put by him in store, in measure as he has done well in business, so that it may not be necessary to get money together when I come.

3 Ref And when I come, I will send the men of your selection with letters to take the money you have got together to Jerusalem.

4 Ref And if it is possible for me to go there, they will go with me.

5 Ref But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia, for that is my purpose;

6 Ref But I may be with you for a time, or even for the winter, so that you may see me on my way, wherever I go.

7 Ref For it is not my desire to see you now, on my way; because it is my hope to be with you for some time, if that is the Lord's pleasure.

8 Ref But I will be at Ephesus till Pentecost;

9 Ref For a great and important door there is open to me, and there are a number of people against me.

10 Ref Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear; because he is doing the Lord's work, even as I am:

11 Ref See then that he has the honour which is right. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me: for I am looking for him with the brothers.

12 Ref But as for Apollos, the brother, I had a great desire for him to come to you with the brothers, but it was not his pleasure to come now; but he will come when he has a chance.

13 Ref Be on the watch, unmoved in the faith, and be strong like men.

14 Ref Let all you do be done in love.

15 Ref Now I make my request to you, my brothers, for you have knowledge that the house of Stephanas is the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have made themselves the servants of the saints,

16 Ref That you put yourselves under such, and under everyone who is helping the Lord's work.

17 Ref And I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for they have done what was needed to make your work complete.

18 Ref For they gave comfort to my spirit and to yours: for which cause give respect to such people.

19 Ref The churches of Asia send their love to you. So do Aquila and Prisca, with the church which is in their house.

20 Ref All the brothers send their love to you. Give one another a holy kiss.

21 Ref I, Paul, send you these words of love in my writing.

22 Ref If any man has not love for the Lord, let him be cursed. Maran atha (our Lord comes).

23 Ref The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

24 Ref My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. So be it.

World English Bible (WEB)

1 Ref Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I commanded the assemblies of Galatia, you do likewise.

2 Ref On the first day of the week, let each one of you save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.

3 Ref When I arrive, I will send whoever you approve with letters to carry your gracious gift to Jerusalem.

4 Ref If it is appropriate for me to go also, they will go with me.

5 Ref But I will come to you when I have passed through Macedonia, for I am passing through Macedonia.

6 Ref But with you it may be that I will stay, or even winter, that you may send me on my journey wherever I go.

7 Ref For I do not wish to see you now in passing, but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.

8 Ref But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost,

9 Ref for a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

10 Ref Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear, for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.

11 Ref Therefore let no one despise him. But set him forward on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers.

12 Ref Now concerning Apollos, the brother, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers; and it was not at all his desire to come now; but he will come when he has an opportunity.

13 Ref Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!

14 Ref Let all that you do be done in love.

15 Ref Now I beg you, brothers (you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to minister to the saints),

16 Ref that you also be in subjection to such, and to everyone who helps in the work and labors.

17 Ref I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus; for that which was lacking on your part, they supplied.

18 Ref For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge those who are like that.

19 Ref The assemblies of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you much in the Lord, together with the assembly that is in their house.

20 Ref All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

21 Ref This greeting is by me, Paul, with my own hand.

22 Ref If any man doesn't love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed{Greek: anathema.}. Come, Lord!{Aramaic: Maranatha!}

23 Ref The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

24 Ref My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
