1 Corinthians 13
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
4 Ref Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride;
5 Ref Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil;
6 Ref It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true;
7 Ref Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things.
8 Ref Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
4 Ref The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,
5 Ref doth not act unseemly, doth not seek its own things, is not provoked, doth not impute evil,
6 Ref rejoiceth not over the unrighteousness, and rejoiceth with the truth;
7 Ref all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.
8 Ref The love doth never fail; and whether `there be' prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless;
