⁵ He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." He said, "Write, for these words of God are faithful and true."

⁵⁰ This is my comfort in my affliction, For your word has revived me.

⁶ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;

⁷ casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

⁸ Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

¹ I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, And my cries for mercy.

² Because he has turned his ear to me, Therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

³ The cords of death surrounded me, The pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.

⁴ Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

²² Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.

²⁶ But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

²⁸ You heard how I told you, 'I go away, and I come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said 'I am going to my Father;' for the Father is greater than I.

⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

²² Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

¹⁶ I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor,{Greek Parakleton: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, and Comfortor.} that he may be with you forever,--

¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.

⁵ For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, But joy comes in the morning.

²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; But when he cried to him, he heard.

⁹ Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed; A high tower in times of trouble.

⁷ Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.

⁴⁸ I reach out my hands for your commandments, which I love. I will meditate on your statutes.

⁴⁹ Remember your word to your servant, Because you gave me hope.

⁵⁰ This is my comfort in my affliction, For your word has revived me.

⁵¹ The arrogant mock me excessively, But I don't swerve from your law.

⁵² I remember your ordinances of old, Yahweh, And have comforted myself.

⁵³ Indignation has taken hold on me, Because of the wicked who forsake your law.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.

⁸ You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?

¹ > God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

²⁰ You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, You will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.

²¹ Increase my honor, And comfort me again.

²² I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God. I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.

⁴ One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after, That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To see Yahweh's beauty, And to inquire in his temple.

⁵ For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tent he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

⁶ Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.
