^{24 Ref} Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

^{25 Ref} Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

²⁶ Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

²⁷ And last of all the woman died also.

²⁸ Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

^{29 Ref} Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

^{30 Ref} For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

^{31 Ref} But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

²⁸ therefore in the rising again, of which of the seven shall she be wife -- for all had her?'

^{29 Ref} And Jesus answering said to them, `Ye go astray, not knowing the Writings, nor the power of God;

^{30 Ref} for in the rising again they do not marry, nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers of God in heaven.

^{31 Ref} `And concerning the rising again of the dead, did ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

²⁷ And last of all the woman came to her end.

²⁸ When they come back from the dead, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? because they all had her.

^{29 Ref} But Jesus said to them in answer, You are in error, not having knowledge of the Writings, or of the power of God.

^{30 Ref} For when they come back from the dead there are no husbands and wives, but they are as the angels in heaven.

^{31 Ref} But about the dead coming back to life, have you no knowledge of what was said to you by God in the Writings:
