Matthew 22

King James Version (KJV)

24 Ref Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

25 Ref Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

27 And last of all the woman died also.

28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

29 Ref Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

29 Ref And Jesus answering said to them, `Ye go astray, not knowing the Writings, nor the power of God;

31 Ref `And concerning the rising again of the dead, did ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

25 Ref Now there were among us seven brothers; and the first was married and at his death, having no seed, gave his wife to his brother;

26 In the same way the second and the third, up to the seventh.

27 And last of all the woman came to her end.

28 When they come back from the dead, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? because they all had her.

29 Ref But Jesus said to them in answer, You are in error, not having knowledge of the Writings, or of the power of God.

30 Ref For when they come back from the dead there are no husbands and wives, but they are as the angels in heaven.

31 Ref But about the dead coming back to life, have you no knowledge of what was said to you by God in the Writings:
