² And he is the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation-- the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.

⁴ "Yet I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt; And you will know no god but me, And besides me there is no savior.

¹¹ For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

¹⁰ For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

¹⁸ knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,

¹⁹ but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, the blood of Christ;

²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of times for your sake,

⁹ Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation,

² looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

²⁵ Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

²⁵ whom God set forth to be an atoning sacrifice{or, a propitiation}, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God's forbearance;

⁵ The angel answered the women, "Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.

⁶ He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

⁷ Go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider it robbery to be equal with God,

⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.

⁸ And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.

⁹ Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;

²² Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen,

²³ how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles."

²⁴ As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, "Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!"

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

¹⁵ For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

²⁵ But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
