⁵ Jesus answered, "Most assuredly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can't enter into the Kingdom of God!

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁷ Don't marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born anew.'

⁸ The wind{The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit.} blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

¹⁵ Most assuredly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."

¹ Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.

³ Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

⁴ to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn't fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

²³ having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.

¹¹ Thus also consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁴ We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

⁵ For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;

⁶ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

⁷ For he who has died has been freed from sin.

⁸ But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;

²² that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit;

²³ and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

²⁴ and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

²⁵ Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members one of another.

¹² But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name:

¹³ who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

¹⁴ The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

³ Jesus answered him, "Most assuredly, I tell you, unless one is born anew,{The word translated "anew" here and in John 3:7 (anothen) also means "again" and "from above".} he can't see the Kingdom of God."

⁴ Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"

⁹ Nicodemus answered him, "How can these things be?"

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

² as newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby,

³ if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious:

⁴ coming to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.

⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,

⁵ that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children.

⁶ And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, "Abba,{Abba is a Greek spelling for the Chaldee word for "Father" or "Daddy" used in a familiar, respectful, and loving way.} Father!"

⁹ Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,

¹⁰ and have put on the new man, that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

¹¹ where there can't be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

¹² Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;

¹⁹ I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

²⁰ that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

²¹ But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹ In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?"

² Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the midst of them,

³ and said, "Most assuredly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁴ Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁵ Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,

⁴ We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

⁶ and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
