2 Timothy 4

World English Bible (WEB)

3 Ref For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts;

4 Ref and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.

5 Ref But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.

Bible in Basic English (BBE)

3 Ref For the time will come when they will not take the true teaching; but, moved by their desires, they will get for themselves a great number of teachers for the pleasure of hearing them;

4 Ref And shutting their ears to what is true, will be turned away to belief in foolish stories.

5 Ref But be self-controlled in all things, do without comfort, go on preaching the good news, completing the work which has been given you to do.
