^{41 Ref} Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

^{42 Ref} Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

^{43 Ref} He walked in all the way of Asa his father; He didn't turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh: however the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

^{44 Ref} Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
