¹⁰ But if they say thus, Come up to us; then we will go up; for Yahweh has delivered them into our hand: and this shall be the sign to us.

¹⁴ Let it happen, that the young lady to whom I will say, 'Please let down your pitcher, that I may drink.' She will say, 'Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink.' Let the same be she who you have appointed for your servant Isaac. Thereby will I know that you have shown kindness to my master."

⁷ Let it be, when these signs are come to you, that you do as occasion shall serve you; for God is with you.

³⁶ Gideon said to God, If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken,

¹¹ and you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall your hands be strengthened to go down into the camp. Then went he down with Purah his servant to the outermost part of the armed men who were in the camp.

¹¹ "Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above."

¹² But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, neither will I tempt Yahweh."

¹³ He said, "Listen now, house of David: Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.{"Immanuel" means "God with us."}
