2 Samuel 12:16-18

16 David therefore begged God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night on the earth.

17 The elders of his house arose, [and stood] beside him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

18 It happened on the seventh day, that the child died. The servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he didn't listen to our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead!

1 Samuel 15:11

11 It repents me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he is turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments. Samuel was angry; and he cried to Yahweh all night.

Deuteronomy 3:23-27

23 I begged Yahweh at that time, saying,

24 Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works, and according to your mighty acts?

25 Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.

26 But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn't listen to me; and Yahweh said to me, Let it suffice you; speak no more to me of this matter.

27 Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes: for you shall not go over this Jordan.

Psalms 77:2-11

2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn't get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

3 I remember God, and I groan. I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah.

4 You hold my eyelids open. I am so troubled that I can't speak.

5 I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times.

6 I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; My spirit diligently inquires:

7 "Will the Lord reject us forever? Will he be favorable no more?

8 Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?" Selah.

10 Then I thought, "I will appeal to this: The years of the right hand of the Most High."

11 I will remember Yah's deeds; For I will remember your wonders of old.

Matthew 20:21-22

21 He said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom."

Matthew 26:39-44

39 He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire."

40 He came to the disciples, and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What, couldn't you watch with me for one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

42 Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cup can't pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done."

43 He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

44 He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
