² When he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, "Seeing that by you we enjoy much peace, and that excellent measures are coming to this nation,

³ For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings, He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh.

² Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

³ May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that boasts,

²⁸ A lying tongue hates those it hurts; And a flattering mouth works ruin.

⁵ A man who flatters his neighbor, Spreads a net for his feet.

²⁶ Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often, and talked with him.

²⁷ But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

¹⁶ These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaks proud things), showing respect of persons to gain advantage.
