⁷ In you have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of you have they dealt by oppression with the foreigner; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.

¹⁶ Cursed be he who sets light by his father or his mother. All the people shall say, Amen.

²¹ "You shall not wrong an alien, neither shall you oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

²² "You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.

⁵ I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don't fear me," says Yahweh of Hosts.

¹⁰ Don't oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.'

⁶ if you don't oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don't shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:

⁹ "'For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother;' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.'

⁴ For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.'

⁵ But you say, 'Whoever may tell his father or his mother, "Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,"

⁶ he shall not honor his father or mother.' You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.

²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yes, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

¹² has wronged the poor and needy, has taken by robbery, has not restored the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, has committed abomination,

¹⁷ The eye that mocks at his father, And scorns obedience to his mother: The ravens of the valley shall pick it out, The young eagles shall eat it.

¹¹ There is a generation that curses their father, And doesn't bless their mother.

²² Don't exploit the poor, because he is poor; And don't crush the needy in court;

²³ For Yahweh will plead their case, And plunder the life of those who plunder them.

²⁰ Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

¹⁹ Cursed be he who wrests the justice [due] to the foreigner, fatherless, and widow. All the people shall say, Amen.

¹⁶ "Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

¹⁷ "Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
