27 Shall we then listen to you to do all this great evil, to trespass against our God in marrying foreign women?

Ezra 9:8

8 Now for a little moment grace has been shown from Yahweh our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

Judges 2:2

2 and you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall break down their altars. But you have not listened to my voice: why have you done this?

Deuteronomy 32:26-27

26 I said, I would scatter them afar, I would make the memory of them to cease from among men;

27 Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.
