3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Isaiah 30:5-7

5 They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can't profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

6 The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that shall not profit [them].

Isaiah 36:6

6 Behold, you trust on the staff of this bruised reed, even on Egypt, whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

Isaiah 45:16-17

16 They shall be disappointed, yes, confounded, all of them; they shall go into confusion together who are makers of idols.

17 [But] Israel shall be saved by Yahweh with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be disappointed nor confounded world without end.

Jeremiah 17:5-6

5 Thus says Yahweh: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.

6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

Jeremiah 37:5-10

5 Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they broke up from Jerusalem.

6 Then came the word of Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

7 Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Thus shall you tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

8 The Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city; and they shall take it, and burn it with fire.

9 Thus says Yahweh, Don't deceive yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us; for they shall not depart.

10 For though you had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yes would they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.

Romans 5:5

5 and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Romans 10:11

11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."
