¹⁶ Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the animals of it sufficient for a burnt offering.

⁶ How shall I come before Yahweh, And bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old?

⁷ Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁶ Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire. You have opened my ears: Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

⁹ I have no need for a bull from your stall, Nor male goats from your pens.

¹⁰ For every animal of the forest is mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.

¹¹ I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.

¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you, For the world is mine, and all that is in it.

⁵ Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, "Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire, But a body did you prepare for me;

⁶ In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you had no pleasure.

⁷ Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (In the scroll of the book it is written of me) To do your will, God.'"

⁸ Previously saying, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn't desire, neither had pleasure in them" (those which are offered according to the law),

⁹ then he has said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,

¹⁰ by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
