⁹ In my ears, Yahweh of Hosts says: "Surely many houses will be desolate, Even great and beautiful, unoccupied.

³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

¹⁴ Yahweh of Hosts revealed himself in my ears, Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven you until you die, says the Lord, Yahweh of Hosts.

⁷ When the king heard that, he was angry, and he sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

¹¹ "For, behold, Yahweh commands, and the great house will be smashed to pieces, And the little house into bits.

¹¹ Forasmuch therefore as you trample on the poor, And take taxes from him of wheat: You have built houses of hewn stone, But you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, But you shall not drink their wine.

⁷ Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, Unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

¹⁰ For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches of it.

¹¹ Then I said, "Lord, how long?" He answered, "Until cities are waste without inhabitant, And houses without man, And the land becomes utterly waste,

¹² And Yahweh has removed men far away, And the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.

⁶ I will lay it a wasteland. It won't be pruned nor hoed, But it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it."

²¹ to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths: [for] as long as it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.
