1 "My spirit is consumed, my days are extinct, And the grave is ready for me.

Psalms 88:3-5

3 For my soul is full of troubles. My life draws near to Sheol.

4 I am counted among those who go down into the pit. I am like a man who has no help,

5 Set apart among the dead, Like the slain who lie in the grave, Whom you remember no more. They are cut off from your hand.

Isaiah 38:10-14

10 I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

11 I said, I shall not see Yah, Yah in the land of the living: I shall see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

12 My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd's tent: I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life; he will cut me off from the loom: From day even to night will you make an end of me.

13 I quieted [myself] until morning; as a lion, so he breaks all my bones: From day even to night will you make an end of me.

14 Like a swallow [or] a crane, so did I chatter; I did moan as a dove; my eyes fail [with looking] upward: Lord, I am oppressed, be my collateral.

Job 6:11

11 What is my strength, that I should wait? What is my end, that I should be patient?

Job 17:13-14

13 If I look for Sheol as my house, If I have spread my couch in the darkness,

14 If I have said to corruption, 'You are my father;' To the worm, 'My mother,' and 'my sister;'

Job 19:17

17 My breath is offensive to my wife. I am loathsome to the children of my own mother.

Job 42:16

16 After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, to four generations.

Isaiah 57:16

16 For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls who I have made.
