¹⁴ But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.

⁴⁷ That servant, who knew his lord's will, and didn't prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

⁴⁸ but he who didn't know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

²³ He who hates me, hates my Father also.

²⁴ If I hadn't done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn't have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father.

²⁵ But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.'

¹ Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.

² "You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins."

¹⁹ This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

²⁷ Won't the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfills the law, judge you, who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law?
