³⁰ For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

³² For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

⁸ Therefore don't be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him.

² that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

³ For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

⁴ They think it is strange that you don't run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,

³² Don't be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

¹⁴ Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

⁵ not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God;

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Don't touch me, for I haven't yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

¹ "Be careful that you don't do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

⁴⁷ If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?
