⁵³ They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

⁴ I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

² Surely there are mockers with me, My eye dwells on their provocation.

⁷ All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,

³ He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we didn't respect him.

⁴⁴ Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.

⁴⁵ When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

³⁵ He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.
