¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

²⁴ When he had begun to reconcile, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.{Ten thousand talents represents an extremely large sum of money, equivalent to about 60,000,000 denarii, where one denarius was typical of one day's wages for agricultural labor.}

⁴⁸ but he who didn't know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

¹³ He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins,{10 minas was more than 3 year's wages for an agricultural laborer.} and told them, 'Conduct business until I come.'

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, 'We don't want this man to reign over us.'
