⁷ How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

¹² Yahweh recompense your work, and a full reward be given you of Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you are come to take refuge.

⁴ He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

⁸ Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me under the shadow of your wings,

¹ Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

¹⁷ How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!

¹ > Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, For my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, Until disaster has passed.

¹⁹ Oh how great is your goodness, Which you have laid up for those who fear you, Which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, Before the sons of men!

⁹ By this was God's love revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation-- the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins.

⁴ by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

⁶ Because it is contained in Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, and precious: He who believes in him will not be disappointed."

⁷ For you therefore who believe is the honor, but for such as are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected, Has become the chief cornerstone,"

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

³⁴ "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

⁷ They will utter the memory of your great goodness, And will sing of your righteousness.

⁸ Yahweh is gracious, merciful, Slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.

¹⁵ But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, Slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth.

⁵ For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; Abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you.

⁷ For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.

⁶ Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, "Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
