³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.

¹¹ Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

² The Lord Yahweh has sworn by his holiness that behold, "The days shall come on you that they will take you away with hooks, And the last of you with fish hooks.

² in hope of eternal life, which God, who can't lie, promised before eternal times;

¹³ For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he swore by himself,

¹⁷ In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;

⁴ Yahweh has sworn, and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek."

⁷ Yahweh has sworn by the pride of Jacob, "Surely I will never forget any of their works.

¹³ But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth;
