James 3:5-8

8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Romans 3:4

4 May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, "That you might be justified in your words, And might prevail when you come into judgment."

Matthew 23:27-28

27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

35 The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure{TR adds "of the heart"} brings out evil things.

Ezekiel 13:7

7 Haven't you seen a false vision, and haven't you spoken a lying divination, in that you say, Yahweh says; but I have not spoken?

Jeremiah 9:3-5

3 They bend their tongue, [as it were] their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don't know me, says Yahweh.

Jeremiah 5:16

16 Their quiver is an open tomb, they are all mighty men.

Job 20:14-16

14 Yet his food in his bowels is turned. It is cobra venom within him.

15 He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.
