⁶ One will say to him, 'What are these wounds between your arms?' Then he will answer, 'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.'

²⁸ They cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them.

¹⁶ For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evil-doers have enclosed me. They pierced my hands and my feet.

⁶ Faithful are the wounds of a friend; Although the kisses of an enemy are profuse.

³⁵ Pilate answered, "I'm not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?"

¹⁴ Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour.{noon} He said to the Jews, "Behold, your King!"

¹⁵ They cried out, "Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar!"

¹⁶ So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

¹⁶ He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads;

¹⁷ and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.

¹¹ The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
