^{3 Ref} Jehovah doth cut off all lips of flattery, A tongue speaking great things,

^{4 Ref} Who said, `By our tongue we do mightily: Our lips `are' our own; who `is' lord over us?'

^{5 Ref} Because of the spoiling of the poor, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now do I arise, saith Jehovah, I set in safety `him who' doth breathe for it.

^{3 Ref} Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

^{4 Ref} Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

^{5 Ref} Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

^{3 Ref} The smooth lips and the tongue of pride will be cut off by the Lord.

^{4 Ref} They have said, With our tongues will we overcome; our lips are ours: who is lord over us?

^{5 Ref} Because of the crushing of the poor and the weeping of those in need, now will I come to his help, says the Lord; I will give him the salvation which he is desiring.
