^{1 Ref} To the Overseer, `On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.

^{2 Ref} From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

^{3 Ref} For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

^{4 Ref} What `is' man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

^{5 Ref} And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

^{6 Ref} Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

^{7 Ref} Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

^{8 Ref} Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!

^{9 Ref} Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth!

^{1 Ref} O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

^{2 Ref} Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

^{3 Ref} When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

^{4 Ref} What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

^{5 Ref} For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor.

^{6 Ref} Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet:

^{7 Ref} All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field,

^{8 Ref} The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

^{2 Ref} You have made clear your strength even out of the mouths of babies at the breast, because of those who are against you; so that you may put to shame the cruel and violent man.

^{3 Ref} When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have put in their places;

^{4 Ref} What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account?

^{5 Ref} For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour.

^{6 Ref} You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet;

^{7 Ref} All sheep and oxen, and all the beasts of the field;

^{8 Ref} The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and whatever goes through the deep waters of the seas.
