¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

³ among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

⁶ and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

⁸ And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.

²⁷ "But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

²⁸ bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

²⁹ To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don't withhold your coat also.

²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

²⁵ whom God set forth to be an atoning sacrifice{or, a propitiation}, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God's forbearance;

¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

⁴ Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud,

⁵ doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

⁶ doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

¹⁹ We love Him, because he first loved us.

⁷ For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a righteous person someone would even dare to die.

⁸ But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God's wrath through him.

¹⁷ A friend loves at all times; And a brother is born for adversity.

³ Yahweh appeared of old to me, [saying], Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.

⁶ doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

⁸ Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

²⁶ Oh give thanks to the God of heaven; For his loving kindness endures forever.

⁹ By this was God's love revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

⁸ But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared,

⁵ not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

⁶ which he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

⁷ that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

⁴³ "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.'

⁴⁴ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

⁴⁵ that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

⁴⁶ For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?

⁴⁷ If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?

⁴⁸ Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation-- the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

⁵ Your loving kindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
