^{1 Ref} A Song of the Ascents. In Jehovah's turning back `to' the captivity of Zion, We have been as dreamers.

^{2 Ref} Then filled `with' laughter is our mouth, And our tongue `with' singing, Then do they say among nations, `Jehovah did great things with these.'

^{3 Ref} Jehovah did great things with us, We have been joyful.

^{4 Ref} Turn again, O Jehovah, `to' our captivity, As streams in the south.

^{5 Ref} Those sowing in tears, with singing do reap,

^{6 Ref} Whoso goeth on and weepeth, Bearing the basket of seed, Surely cometh in with singing, bearing his sheaves!

^{1 Ref} <A Song of the going up.> When the Lord made a change in Zion's fate, we were like men in a dream.

^{2 Ref} Then our mouths were full of laughing, and our tongues gave a glad cry; they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.

^{3 Ref} The Lord has done great things for us; because of which we are glad.

^{4 Ref} Let our fate be changed, O Lord, like the streams in the South.

^{5 Ref} Those who put in seed with weeping will get in the grain with cries of joy.

^{6 Ref} Though a man may go out weeping, taking his vessel of seed with him; he will come again in joy, with the corded stems of grain in his arms.

^{1 Ref} > When Yahweh brought back those who returned to Zion, We were like those who dream.

^{2 Ref} Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "Yahweh has done great things for them."

^{3 Ref} Yahweh has done great things for us, And we are glad.

^{4 Ref} Restore our fortunes again, Yahweh, Like the streams in the Negev.

^{5 Ref} Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.

^{6 Ref} He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, Will assuredly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
