^{1 Ref} To the Overseer. -- An Instruction. By sons of Korah. As a hart doth pant for streams of water, So my soul panteth toward Thee, O God.

^{2 Ref} My soul thirsted for God, for the living God, When do I enter and see the face of God?

^{3 Ref} My tear hath been to me bread day and night, In their saying unto me all the day, `Where `is' thy God?'

^{4 Ref} These I remember, and pour out my soul in me, For I pass over into the booth, I go softly with them unto the house of God, With the voice of singing and confession, The multitude keeping feast!

^{5 Ref} What! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? Yea, art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him: The salvation of my countenance -- My God!

^{6 Ref} In me doth my soul bow itself, Therefore I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, And of the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.

^{7 Ref} Deep unto deep is calling At the noise of Thy water-spouts, All Thy breakers and Thy billows passed over me.

^{8 Ref} By day Jehovah commandeth His kindness, And by night a song `is' with me, A prayer to the God of my life.

^{9 Ref} I say to God my rock, `Why hast Thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning in the oppression of an enemy?

^{10 Ref} With a sword in my bones Have mine adversaries reproached me, In their saying unto me all the day, `Where `is' thy God?'

^{11 Ref} What! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? And what! art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him, The salvation of my countenance, and my God!

^{1 Ref} <To the chief music-maker. Maschil. Of the sons of Korah.> Like the desire of the roe for the water-streams, so is my soul's desire for you, O God.

^{2 Ref} My soul is dry for need of God, the living God; when may I come and see the face of God?

^{3 Ref} My tears have been my food day and night, while they keep saying to me, Where is your God?

^{4 Ref} Let my soul be overflowing with grief when these things come back to my mind, how I went in company to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with the song of those who were keeping the feast.

^{5 Ref} Why are you crushed down, O my soul? and why are you troubled in me? put your hope in God; for I will again give him praise who is my help and my God.

^{6 Ref} My soul is crushed down in me, so I will keep you in mind; from the land of Jordan and of the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.

^{7 Ref} Deep is sounding to deep at the noise of your waterfalls; all your waves have gone rolling over me.

^{8 Ref} But the Lord will send his mercy in the daytime, and in the night his song will be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

^{9 Ref} I will say to God my Rock, Why have you let me go from your memory? why do I go in sorrow because of the attacks of my haters?

^{10 Ref} The cruel words of my haters are like a crushing of my bones; when they say to me every day, Where is your God?

^{11 Ref} Why are you crushed down, O my soul? and why are you troubled in me? put your hope in God; for I will again give him praise who is my help and my God.

^{2 Ref} My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

^{3 Ref} My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"

^{4 Ref} These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, How I used to go with the crowd, and led them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day.

^{5 Ref} Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.

^{6 Ref} My God, my soul is in despair within me. Therefore I remember you from the land of the Jordan, The heights of Hermon, from the hill Mizar.

^{7 Ref} Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.

^{8 Ref} Yahweh will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: A prayer to the God of my life.

^{9 Ref} I will ask God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"

^{10 Ref} As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, While they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"

^{11 Ref} Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, The saving help of my countenance, and my God.
