^{4 Ref} Pilate, therefore, again went forth without, and saith to them, `Lo, I do bring him to you without, that ye may know that in him I find no fault;'

^{5 Ref} Jesus, therefore, came forth without, bearing the thorny crown and the purple garment; and he saith to them, `Lo, the man!'

^{6 Ref} When, therefore, the chief priests and the officers did see him, they cried out, saying, `Crucify, crucify;' Pilate saith to them, `Take ye him -- ye, and crucify; for I find no fault in him;'

^{7 Ref} the Jews answered him, `We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, for he made himself Son of God.'

^{4 Ref} And Pilate went out again and said to them, See, I let him come out to you to make it clear to you that I see no wrong in him.

^{5 Ref} Then Jesus came out with the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Here is the man!

^{6 Ref} So when the chief priests and the police saw him they gave a loud cry, To the cross! to the cross! Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and put him on the cross: I see no crime in him.

^{7 Ref} And the Jews made answer, We have a law, and by that law it is right for him to be put to death because he said he was the Son of God.
