¹³ Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

³ And every one that hath this hope `set' on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

² Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

³ For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me.

⁴ Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, And done that which is evil in thy sight; That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, And be clear when thou judgest.

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.

⁷ Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

⁸ Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

⁹ Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.

¹¹ Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy Spirit from me.

¹² Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit.

¹³ Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee.

¹ Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

² Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.

³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away Through my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture was changed `as' with the drought of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity did I not hide: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁶ For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely when the great waters overflow they shall not reach unto him.

⁷ Thou art my hiding-place; thou wilt preserve me from trouble; Thou wilt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah

³ For this is the will of God, `even' your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;

⁴ that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor,

⁵ not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who know not God;

⁶ that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in the matter: because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.
