Dive into a structured journey through the Bible with the M'Cheyne Reading Plan.
About the M'Cheyne Plan
The M'Cheyne Reading Plan, created by the 19th-century Scottish minister Robert Murray M'Cheyne (1813-1843), is a well-respected method for reading through the Bible. This plan guides readers through the New Testament and Psalms twice a year, and the rest of the Bible once annually, with approximately four chapters assigned per day.
M'Cheyne's original plan designated two columns labeled “Family” and two “Secret.” The "Family" readings were intended for family devotions, while the "Secret" readings were for personal, private devotions.
Why Choose the M'Cheyne Reading Plan?
- Structured Approach: Provides a clear framework for covering the entire Bible.
- Balanced Reading: Combines Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs.
- Historical Significance: Connect with a plan used by Christians for generations.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Read the New Testament and Psalms twice, and the rest of the Bible once in a year.
