⁶ Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

⁴ And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

¹¹ Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

⁶ and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, having made them an example unto those that should live ungodly;

²¹ which also after a true likeness doth now save you, `even' baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

²⁴ For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:

¹¹ Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

¹⁴ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.

⁶ I have cut off nations; their battlements are desolate; I have made their streets waste, so that none passeth by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

⁷ I said, Only fear thou me; receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, `according to' all that I have appointed concerning her: but they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

¹⁴ But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.

¹⁵ And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.

²⁷ He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, And winged birds as the sand of the seas:

²⁸ And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, Round about their habitations.

²⁹ So they did eat, and were well filled; And he gave them their own desire.

³⁰ They were not estranged from that which they desired, Their food was yet in their mouths,

³¹ When the anger of God went up against them, And slew of the fattest of them, And smote down the young men of Israel.

³¹ And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the earth.

³² And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

³³ While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague.

³⁴ And the name of that place was called Kibrothhattaavah, because there they buried the people that lusted.
