⁹ And Jehovah was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Jehovah, the God of Israel, who had appeared unto him twice,

² that Jehovah appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

⁵ In Gibeon Jehovah appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

¹⁰ for Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

¹¹ Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the understanding.

¹³ And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh `unto me', and with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught `them';

¹⁴ therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

²³ Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

⁷ For we are consumed in thine anger, And in thy wrath are we troubled.

⁸ Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, Our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

⁵⁸ For they provoked him to anger with their high places, And moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

⁵⁹ When God heard `this', he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;

⁶⁰ So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent which he placed among men;

⁷ And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel.

² of the nations concerning which Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

³ And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.

⁴ For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

²⁷ And when the mourning was past, David sent and took her home to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased Jehovah.

⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

²⁰ And Jehovah was very angry with Aaron to destroy him: and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

⁸ Also in Horeb ye provoked Jehovah to wrath, and Jehovah was angry with you to destroy you.

⁴ For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.

²⁶ But Jehovah was wroth with me for your sakes, and hearkened not unto me; and Jehovah said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.

⁹ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them; and he departed.

¹⁴ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is there not Aaron thy brother the Levite? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
