²³ But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down to Sheol to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.

⁸ The eye of him that seeth me shall behold me no more; Thine eyes shall be upon me, but I shall not be.

⁹ As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, So he that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more.

¹⁰ He shall return no more to his house, Neither shall his place know him any more.

²³ For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living.

⁴³ And he said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.
