¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works:

²⁰ of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I delivered unto Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.

⁶ Render unto her even as she rendered, and double `unto her' the double according to her works: in the cup which she mingled, mingle unto her double.

⁴ Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings: Give them after the operation of their hands; Render to them their desert.

¹² Jehovah judge between me and thee, and Jehovah avenge me of thee; but my hand shall not be upon thee.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, and ye apostles, and ye prophets; for God hath judged your judgment on her.

¹⁰ and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

¹⁶ If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and `God' will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.

⁶ if so be that it is righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

¹⁹ Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath `of God': for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.

³³ And they brought Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made a defense unto the people.

³⁴ But when they perceived that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

¹⁹ Give heed to me, O Jehovah, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.

²⁰ Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember how I stood before thee to speak good for them, to turn away thy wrath from them.

²¹ Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword; and let their wives become childless, and widows; and let their men be slain of death, `and' their young men smitten of the sword in battle.

²² Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them; for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

²³ Yet, Jehovah, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me; forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight; but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thou with them in the time of thine anger.

¹⁵ O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach.

⁵ And they have rewarded me evil for good, And hatred for my love.

⁶ Set thou a wicked man over him; And let an adversary stand at his right hand.

⁷ When he is judged, let him come forth guilty; And let his prayer be turned into sin.

⁸ Let his days be few; `And' let another take his office.

⁹ Let his children be fatherless, And his wife a widow.

¹⁰ Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; And let them seek `their bread' out of their desolate places.

¹¹ Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; And let strangers make spoil of his labor.

¹² Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; Neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.

¹³ Let his posterity be cut off; In the generation following let their name be blotted out.

¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Jehovah; And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

¹⁵ Let them be before Jehovah continually, That he may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

¹⁶ Because he remembered not to show kindness, But persecuted the poor and needy man, And the broken in heart, to slay `them'.

¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; And he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him.

¹⁸ He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, And it came into his inward parts like water, And like oil into his bones.

¹⁹ Let it be unto him as the raiment wherewith he covereth himself, And for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

²⁰ This is the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah, And of them that speak evil against my soul.

¹² Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

³⁹ And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me: Jehovah reward the evil-doer according to his wickedness.
