⁴⁶ Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop `thy word' toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;

¹⁶ Now therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not `thy word' against the house of Isaac;

² Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop `thy word' toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

¹⁹ The cities of the South are shut up, and there is none to open them: Judah is carried away captive, all of it; it is wholly carried away captive.

¹ Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

² Wail, O fir-tree, for the cedar is fallen, because the goodly ones are destroyed: wail, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest is come down.

⁶ Prophesy ye not, `thus' they prophesy. They shall not prophesy to these: reproaches shall not depart.

² Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them,

⁷ And thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with thine arm uncovered; and thou shalt prophesy against it.

⁷ And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons; and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

⁶ The burden of the beasts of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the humps of camels, to a people that shall not profit `them'.

²² After my words they spake not again; And my speech distilled upon them.

² My doctrine shall drop as the rain; My speech shall distil as the dew, As the small rain upon the tender grass, And as the showers upon the herb.
