³ And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

¹⁴ And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.

²¹ He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child Shall have him become a son at the last.

² and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make they name great; and be thou a blessing;

¹⁶ And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: So that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then may thy seed also be numbered.

¹² Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

²³ For an odious woman when she is married; And a handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

⁷ I bought men-servants and maid-servants, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all that were before me in Jerusalem;

¹ Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward.

³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
