¹⁶ And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for thee a covering of the eyes to all that are with thee. And in respect of all thou art righted.

⁵ Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden.

⁵ Said he not himself unto me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the integrity of my heart and the innocency of my hands have I done this.

⁶⁵ And she said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant said, It is my master. And she took her veil, and covered herself.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

⁶ So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

¹² `As' an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, `So is' a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

¹ Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge; But he that hateth reproof is brutish.

⁸ Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee: Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.

⁹ Give `instruction' to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

³ And Joab said, Jehovah make his people a hundred times as many as they are: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of guilt unto Israel?

⁴ Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.

⁵ And Joab gave up the sum of the numbering of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and a hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.

⁶ But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them; for the king's word was abominable to Joab.

¹¹ And Abimelech charged all the people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.
