³⁷ Whereas thou hast felt about all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? Set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us two.

³² With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, he shall not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

²³ And they took them from the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel; and they laid them down before Jehovah.

³ Here I am: witness against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

⁴ And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken aught of any man's hand.

¹⁶ But if he hear `thee' not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.

⁴ If then ye have to judge things pertaining to this life, do ye set them to judge who are of no account in the church?

⁵ I say `this' to move you to shame. What, cannot there be `found' among you one wise man who shall be able to decide between his brethren,

¹⁰ Ye are witnesses, and God `also', how holily and righteously and unblameably we behaved ourselves toward you that believe:

¹⁸ Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.

¹² having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁶ having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.
